Our city and local neighborhoods are very important to us at VerticalLife Church. We believe that every man, woman, and child should be given the opportunity to hear the Gospel. God placed us in Newton, NC within the 82nd pocket of lostness in NC expecting us be His hands and feet to the hurting, broken and unsaved.
Our missional communities play a huge part of us actively reaching our local neighborhoods. As a church we also participate in local events and community organizations that reach people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. These include the Newton Spooktacular and the Old Soldier's Reunion and well as serving at Corner Table. We also strive to support local community workers such as police, firefighters and EMS and our local High School in a variety of ways.
In 2019 VerticalLife began serving the Latino Community in our area, in partnership with missionaries Pastor Miquel & Silvia Abdala as they begin to reach out to the latino community and begin to plant churches in our area. The result was a church plant/ministry being birthed, called Vida Vertical specifically for our spanish speaking friends in the Newton, NC area. As they continued to grow, in 2022 they began meeting in their own building at 327 W. 15th Street, Newton.
Also in 2019, in collaboration with other like minded churches in the Newton-Conover Community, ImpactN-C was born out of a desire to reach those in our backyard who are far from God. ImpactN-C is made up of Christians from several area churches who have adopted a resolution to join together for the gospel. Out of this collaboration, 'Love Your Neighbor' was created. This ministry, which began in 2021 takes the vision of reaching our communities to a deeper lever. Each 5th Sunday (4 times per year) VerticalLife and other local churches hold a community event which gives free food and items to our neighbors while providing some fun children's activities and connection opportunities for parents.
