Light In the Darkness Volunteer Information.

Be aware that parking is very different that evening to keep vehicles away from the area that most people will be walking.  See field map below.
  • The “Volunteer Entrance” Sign will be on North Ashe near the corner of 8th street.
  • Parking will be along North Ashe as indicated by the corner of 7th street.

Important Note:
  • Remember that there are to be no costumes worn by our volunteers, regardless of theme.  Feel free to wear an Impact NC shirt or a Vertical Life shirt.

Consider your true role at the event.
  • The key to the evening is to engage with the people.  Regardless of the job you have at the event, you are the hands, feet, and perhaps the voice of Jesus.  Look for opportunities to talk to people and seek to get deeper than just “Hi, how are you?” or “Glad you’re here.”
  • A suggestion is to focus on the theme, “Light in the Darkness” and ask people if there is any darkness in their lives, guiding them to Jesus being the light.  Focus on the glow bracelets as a talking point and how light dispels darkness as Jesus did.  Ask them if they need prayer and either pray with them right then and there or take them to the prayer table.

I can’t wait to see you at the event.
I look forward to seeing what God is going to do!
